Issachar Consulting Group (ICG) was established in 2013 on the campus of Regent University in Virginia by Dr. Melvin Hayes. It was originally intended as a for-credit Leadership Research project. The goal of the research was to help Christian organizations, leaders, and others see the benefits of establishing their church, ministry, and life on a foundation that is biblical, practical, and sustainable. The three components of the research was the study of Ephesians 4:11-12, the five types of gifted leaders and an understanding of spiritual gifts. The research is currently being published under the title Implementing The Forensic Case for Fivefold Leadership (Copyright # 1-9099342621).
Issachar Consulting Group (ICG) is a not-for-profit- 501c3 ministry under the Internal Revenue Code Sec. 170. Donors can deduct contributions they make to the ministry. I believe, ICG was birthed from the heart of God to my heart as a manifestation of the gifts and call He placed with me.
Issachar Consulting Group (ICG) believes the gifts are essential for present-day use, not only in the Church, but in the marketplace, family, government, and society as well. The key is understanding their proper identification, implementation, and development. ICG not only helps people discover their gifts but how to incorporate them into their daily lives.
The vision of ICG is to help people discover God’s purpose through understanding, developing, and deploying their God-given spiritual gifts. The first step in discovery begins with understanding that God “created us fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalms 139:14). With solemnity in his voice, W.T. Purkiser noted, “A Christian without the exercise of their gifts is largely useless".(The Gifts of the Spirit, Beacon Hill Press of Kansas City, Pg. 7.)
Is it any surprise marriages fail at an alarming rate, suicides end precious lives, dreams and visions die, depression incapacitates, and hopelessness prevails when one loses or never knows the true purpose of their existence? Futility often exists during seasons of real and perceived turmoil. Marriages collapse when a couples’ vision for their union dies. Hopelessness replaces purpose when turmoil clouds our vision as Proverbs 29:18 informs us, "Where there is no vision, the people perish".
